LitAttention Summer Colloquium

We’re excited to announce the incoming guest speakers for our LitAttention Summer Colloquium.

On the 21st of May, Kathy Conklin, Professor of Psycholinguisitics in the School of English at the Univeristy of Nottingham, will give a talk on “Seeing literariness: Eye-tracking as a window into the reading of literary texts“.

Yves Citton, Professor in Literature and Media at the Université Paris 8 and at the Institut Universitaire de France will give an online lecture on the 18th of June. His talk, “From Narrative Attention to Anthropological Curiosity: Jan Potocki’s Manuscript found in Saragossa (1815)” will be available to join here and screened in our lecture room 17.22.

Our last guest is Marion Thain, Professor of Culture and Technology and Director of Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh. She will join us on the 2nd of July to give a talk on “Habit, Bias, and Aesthetic Technologies of Attention“.
